Volatile aroma compounds play a significant role in how flavors are interpreted and perceived. The Nucleus Paragon Pour-Over Brewer uses extract chilling technology to help capture aromatic compounds that might otherwise be lost to the surrounding environment during brewing.
Technology Backed by Science
The extract chilling technology used in the Nucleus Paragon Pour-Over Brewer was researched at the Coffee Excellence Center in Switzerland, with contributions from Professor Chahan and coffee professionals involved in development and testing.
Nucleus Paragon Chilling Rock
The Nucleus Paragon is designed to support extract chilling across different pour-over brew volumes. Its Chilling Rock features a metal casing containing a specialized cooling solution designed to maintain a low temperature for an extended period. For effective chilling, the rock should be kept below -5°C and used within 10 minutes of removal from the freezer after reaching a stable frozen temperature.
Enhanced Aroma Retention
A perceived flavor such as jasmine can result from a combination of multiple volatile aroma compounds. Research indicates that the Nucleus Paragon can retain up to 40% more key volatile aroma compounds compared with an identical brew without extract chilling, helping preserve aroma and flavor expression in the final cup.
Adjustable Height
The Nucleus Paragon features an adjustable-height design to accommodate different serving vessels and pour-over brewers.
